 HS Orka hf, located at the Reykjanes peninsula south west Iceland, delivers hot water for district heating and ground water to the municipalities at the peninsula. Power generated is fed into the national grid. HS Orka hf, a successor of Hitaveita Suðurnesja hf being in the high temperature geothermal industry since 1976 is one of Iceland´s most innovative and successful geothermal companies. HS Orka hf owns and operates two CHP geothermal power plant complexes. Today Svartsengi power plant comprises of 10 generating units out of which 7 are Ormat´s ORC. Installed power at Svartsengi is 75 MWe and 150 MW thermal energy for distric heating. At the tip of the Reykjanes peninsula HS Orka hf operates a 100 MWe sea water cooled high temperature power plant. In order to support sustainable development in society HS Orka´s hf strategy is reflected in its Resource Park Concept. The main components of the concept are: highest possible energy efficiency, interdisciplinary cooperation, bridging cultures, one´s waste another´s resource and more.  The plants are located close to each other, within one hour driving distance from Reykjavík.
